Alone in the dark
The air is light
Thoughts drift about
Lost dreams seep in
The secretes of darkness unfolds
When an angel appears
To watch over you
She wipes the tears from your chin
Speaks in the most gentle of lullabies
Holding your hand
Whispering the soft words
Silently by your side
Guiding through the perils
The path is before you
Listen
Listen to her
May you find your light...

Hi George. Thanks for stopping by Broken Mannequin.
I like your poems! This one is very comforting. I feel soft and sheltered when I read it. I especially like the image of the angel wiping tears from my chin.
Take care of yourself.
Well thanks Charli. Welcome to my scribblings... I like your place too.
Mannequins if that's not enough to freak someone out and finding them pretty cool at the same time.
I think they converse with each other when the lights go out at night, dancing about holding their little mannequin rendezvous.
Then run back into place when they hear the keys in the door. Besides isn't that where the little mannequin kids come from. hehe...
It use to scare me when I was a child to be shopping with my mom, thinking I was next to her. Then finding it was a mannequin instead.
All that said, jokingly of course.
I do believe in angels and she had guided me through trying times to safety.
As strange as that may seem this poem is for her...
Charli, thanks again for responding.

A wonderful poem, George. I just found your blog, but will be back again to read more.
Linda. Glad to see you, your visits are always welcomed.
When I write I try to use a paint brush of images swirling across the air in the room. Hoping it will translate to the reader.
I definitely want to spend more time at your place to comment more.
Rick. Greetings and a very warm welcome. Thank you for your comment.
I enjoy the dragon lore you have going on. I'd painted a few of them in my days. I have a couple of many on the blog here. Visit again...
Another beautiful poem, George. I agree with everyone else. It's very comforting and uplifting. And lovely lines. If you hadn't told us that you're new to blogging, I wouldn't have known. You're doing an excellent job, and I have enjoyed reading your work.
Thanks Julie, Yours and every one's comments are always so kind. I'm kind of new to writing also especially poetry by a handful of months, but I am trying to learn..

Oh I like this, I love the thought of angels...I thought tears just dried up on their own...glad to know my angel wipes them away. How very nice.
I believe they may use their sleeve I'm not quite sure.
